I just wanted to express my gratitude for the loving care your staff gave my grandmother. They were clearly a blessing and comfort to her and her family.

I came to work for Hospice in 2006.Since then I have come to realize how important family is. Working for hospice you become an important part of helping and individual reach the highest quality of their life that they have left. In doing so you become a part of their family. You learn their likes, their dislikes, and those nonverbal signals that say I am not having a great day. Hospice has made me appreciate being a nurse, a coworker and most importantly being someone that helps the patient and their family. Reliant has changed my life by being a family oriented company. The company has done things for families like given birthday parties, carried out last wishes of patients, assisted families in paying bills and paying for funerals. Most of all Reliant has become an integral part of the family dynamics being there to attend funerals and following up with our patients’ families after they have passed. Our staff includes nurses, social workers, chaplains, CNA IS, sitters, and volunteers all of which have a part in providing quality care to our patients and their families. Reliant Hospice has become a company much like the name to me a company you can rely on during the life of your loved ones and after they have passed. I love this place.

All of the hospice has made a great difference in my Father's life and the care he gets everyday. I feel comfort in knowing they are there for him at this time in his life. I would like to say "Thank you". knowing that there should be more of (a) way to say all (of) this for the care my Father is receiving. All of the Hospice team has done a great job and should in some (way) be given recognition.

"Adding Life to My Days" This I believe is one of the slogans that represent what this company, has brought to me, as an employee. I have seen the growth of this company within the year that I have been employed as well as my own individual growth as a home health aide. This company not only provides excellent care for patient's and families, but also for its employees. Being a Certified CNA for 18 years, am very proud to represent a company that puts the patient and their families first and also ensures that each discipline receives the training that we need to ensure quality care for our families. Reliant Hospice has added Life to my days on a very personal level ensuring that I become the best person I can be for myself as well as the patients and families we care for.

Teresa Davis -Sitter

I share this testimonial with an over abundance of humility and gratitude. I am convinced my employment with Reliant Hospice is through divine intervention.

In retrospect, I recognize that this miracle started about three years ago. My beloved younger sister, Kay was a hospice patient and I was her caregiver. Hospice was crucial in assisting my family and me to give Kay the very best of care and medicine to keep her comfortable with minimal suffering prior to her passing. This was my introduction to the awesome services hospice provides. I had no idea hospice would later be such an integral part of my life.

My life changed drastically a short time after my sister's passing. After being married for over thirty years, suddenly I no longer was. My financial situation dictated I needed to re-enter the workforce. After being a homemaker for many years, I lacked confidence that I could find a job which would allow me to still help my daughter with care and transportation to school for my two grand-girls.

My oldest sister was attending a social function and knew the Clinical Director at Reliant Hospice. Through conversation, she asked if they had positions for sitters. This wonderful woman stated their sitter service was outsourced, but told my sister to have me contact her and she would give me contact information.

Divine intervention continues... Reliant Hospice began hiring their own sitters -I was blessed to be the first one hired. I now have health insurance, where I had none. I can now perform functions on a computer like charting and emailing. I had no computer knowledge prior to this job. My schedule was arranged to accommodate my desire to assist with my grand-girls. I have no reservations about using MapQuest to locate a client's address and finding my way. My then husband always performed these type things for me. My family says I am not the same person I was two years ago. They proclaim I am more confident and independent. I love my job I enjoy giving care to my patients and families.. My peers gave me the high honor of being "employee of the month" in May 2008 and I am very thankful and humbled. I am blessed and grateful to be a Reliant Hospice employee.

Princetta P. Dennis

My name is Princetta P. Dennis and I came on staff as a Chaplain with Reliant Hospice on the 31st of July, 2006. I have never worked for a company that showed as much care and concern for the patients and employees. We do strive here at Reliant to provide life to our patients’ days. Working here has given me a totally new vision. I am learning to live in the moment while preparing for the future, to enjoy every day and not to take those whom I love and who love me for granted. I've seen employees from every disciple and management positions give over and beyond to our patients and to each other as well. Last year May 14, 2007, my seventeen year old nephew, Tyler Corley was killed in a car accident. Tammy and my co-workers fully supported me even to attending the funeral service. Tammy is a very generous and compassionate person. She gives unselfishly to everyone. It has been my pleasure to be employed here. I LOVE my job.

Being employed at Reliant Hospice is such a blessing. I sometimes forget it is a "job", (because) it feels like a ministry. I have a patient's wife who has said I know this is your job but you don't know how much it means to us to have you come and visit. At times like this I find myself being reminded yes it is a job but I never think of it that way.

My concept of dying and living has changed so much as I walk this journey with "my" patients. I have such a different understanding of life and death. Our motto of "adding life to your days" is so appropriate. I remind my patients that it is living everyday to the fullest. Each of us is going to die we don't know when or how but we need to live our life so that we are ready when the time comes.

At Reliant we treat the patient and the family with love, encouragement and kindness, we understand they the stress that is on them at this time. We don't think about age, race or gender we just go in and minister to them. We're focused on their particular situation then we come together as a team to assess what we will be able to accomplish for them.

Examples of how I've seen Reliant meet patients needs; Reliant has paid for things patients were having to do without: food, meds, Christmas gifts for their children, homes repaired, we've provided Notary Services, helped plan funerals, officiated at funeral services and most important we have been there in their time of need with unconditional love.
